At Maya, Jukka has joined our Projects & Enterprise Applications team and has already been actively involved in our AI agent development initiatives. We asked him a few questions so you can get to know him a little better.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
After many years in one organization, it felt refreshing to step into a new environment and see things from a different perspective. At the same time, it also felt a little like coming home, as I had spent several years working as a consultant earlier in my career.
What I'm most looking forward to is meeting new customers, learning about their businesses, and helping them solve challenges that really matter to them. One of the things I've always enjoyed about consulting is that no two days are exactly alike. There are always new people to meet, new problems to solve, and opportunities to learn something new. That curiosity and continuous learning are a big part of what keeps me motivated.
You have extensive experience in technology, data, analytics and AI. What excites you most about these topics right now?
I've worked with technology and data for a long time, but I don't think any of us have ever seen such a rapid change in the way technology impacts everyday work. What excites me most is not the technology itself, but how quickly it's becoming useful in practice.
Of course, keeping up with the pace of change is a challenge for everyone. But that's also what makes it so fascinating. There is always something new to learn, and we're only just beginning to discover what's possible. That's a big part of why I find this field so interesting and rewarding to work in.
What kinds of customer challenges and transformation projects do you enjoy working on the most?
I enjoy working with customers who are facing significant change and trying to figure out what the next step should be. Often the technology is not the hardest part. The real challenge is bringing people together, creating a shared understanding, and turning good ideas into something concrete. It's especially rewarding to see a project move from uncertainty and discussion to real results that people can benefit from in their everyday work.
Outside of work, music plays an important role in your life. Can you tell us a bit about your hobby?
I play lead guitar and sing backing vocals in a band called The Minimals, and we mainly play British rock music from the 1960s, but in our own style.
When I'm not playing, I'm usually listening to music, hunting for additions to my record collection, or reading about artists, albums, and music history. Music is one of those interests where there always seems to be something new to discover.
Playing in a band is a lot like working in a good team. Everyone has their role, you need to listen to each other, and the best results come when everything clicks together.
